The Mariposario is open all day to guests. Meander through the lush neo-tropical butterfly garden and adjacent jungle arboretum. Relax on the lower balcony and view our natural feeding station. You will encounter a treasure trove of flowers, butterflies, birds, and wildlife to photograph, paint, or simply enjoy! Be sure to take advantage of our proximity to the upper falls (just a short hike from the house). Finally after a fun-filled day in the tropical heat prepare for la noche with a relaxing shower or short siesta in your air conditioned room. Breakfast: on our sunny balcony every morning 7-9 am. Start your day with French pressed Costa Rican coffee, fresh juice, or tea. Enjoy the rotating daily menu, from "comida tipica" with gallo pinto, to banana pancakes and bacon or veggie sausage. *Based on double occupancy-$10 a night per extra person. Inquire about weekly and monthly rates. Prices do no include a 13% hotel tax and a Local tax of 3%. We accept credit card payment via a PayPal account.

Peaceful, loving environment to relax, awesome owners!Mariposario Montezuma Gardens Montezuma Beach, Costa Rica. My partner and I (26 &29) stayed in the Caligo room for 4 nights. From the moment we walked into the lobby Ryan greeted us in such a down to earth and pleasant manner. We felt at ease immediately freely roaming the butterfly Gardenss (amazing), hiking trail to waterfall, and taking short jaunts into town for dinner.
The balcony off our room was our favorite spot on our 2 week vacation; listening to the wildlife and rocking the night away in our comfy chairs with a cold beer and great company. In fact, we found ourselves coming home early each night to chill on our balcony and enjoy the moment.
Ryan, Josh, Leah, and Mary were wonderful and so easy going. They were more than helpful and allowed for one to engage in their vacation on whatever speed desired. We chose Uber-Chill. They hold a wealth of knowledge on the area and more than happy to arrange transport/activities.
We would go back tomorrow if possible:) We highly recommend it as this family comes from their heart in all that they do, radiating positivity and joy.
