La Dolce Vita

La Dolce Vita

I am Franco from Naples in Italy. I spent one week at La Dolce Vita and am back at home since two weeks. I want to write this report to let everybody know how nice is Esterillos Oeste, as well this hotel that is a special place. La Dolce Vita is managed by very nice and friendly Italian people, that make their best to let you feel at home and enjoy every minute of your vacation. The hotel is surounded by palms and other trees and from a garden full of flowers and plants that make you relax and feel well. The beach is just steps away from the rooms that are confortable and provided of any comfort, such as a good bed, fridge, kitchen (if you need..I don't) air conditioning, hot water, shower and a nice terrace where to get your breakfast. sit, chat or read. I had also a Satellite Tv for the nghts when you did not want to go to Jaco to live night-life.

Esterillos Oeste, where we stayed, is about 20 minutes from Jaco and is a very quiet place. Therefore if you love to be directly in the hearth of towns with a lot of restaurants, casinos, discos, etc. go to Jaco. Since we love surfing and only sometime take the car and go downtown we prefered to stay in Esterillos, that is more beautuful, peaceuful and with a better athnosphere and where also the wheather is better and the air fresher.

I suggest this place and this hotel.

“Lovely Hotel and beach in Esterillos Oeste”

La Dolce Vita

My wife, two childreen and I spent one week at "La Dolce Vita" in February. It was a nice experience! You sleep with a slight sound of ocean waves, that is perfect for relaxing, and when you wake up, just a few steps and you are facing the beauty of the ocean (50 yardes), the beach, the palms, the lapas (wonderful kind of parrots with many colours). The beach is huge and clean and the nature gourgious.

The hospitality was very good and warm, thanks to the Italian family managing the hotel. The apartments are delicious and clean. The price was $ 60 for the four of us per day. The nearest town, Jaco, that we like for the restaurants, shops, etc is only 20 minutes from Esterillos Oeste. So we think that for a family Esterillos Oeste is a nice place to go in Costa Rica.

“Highly Recommend!”

La Dolce Vita

We stumbled upon La Dolce Vita, looking for a place to stay on the beach. The apartment was very clean. Kitchen, fridge (greatly appreciated), A/C in the bedroom. Very comfortable. Small clean pool. During the high season, we paid $60 US per night, tax included and a bottle of red wine delivered to the room brought the price up $10. The Italian owners could not have been more hospitable. We were welcomed and we felt right at home. We were invited to a celebration of the daughter's 6th birthday party.

We would stay there again.

“My Home away from Home”

La Dolce Vita

I just got back from Esterillos Oeste Costa Rica. This is like the "bunny slope" surfing spot for the geriatric surfer, who first embraced the life style in the sixties. Esterillos is about ten kilometers south of Jaco on the Pacific coast and is home to many ex-patriots as well as vacationing gringos.

I have been coming to this area at least once a year since 2003 staying at various cabinas or friends' homes. Last year I discovered Hotel La Dolce Vita, which was next door to my friend's villa right on the Pacific. I went and viewed the place and found it to be very clean and well maintained. (relative to CR not the Ritz Carlton) This year I made reservations and stayed for eight nights and was extremely pleased with my one bedroom, one bath room with refrigerator and stove. The staff was excellent and very accommodating. A simple, but well prepared and presented breakfast was brought to my room each morning. What we lacked in a mutual language was more than made up for with smiles and friendliness.

I have already informed Stefano, the owner, that I will be back about the same time next year and to reserve my same room por favor.

“Great Hotel On The Beach”

La Dolce Vita

La Dolce Vita has a good location just on the beach, and is very convenient for surfers. The apartments are clean, nice and spacious with all conforts. At night you sleep very well, thanks to the soft sound of waves. The staff is helpful and kind. I recommend the hotel also for the beauty of the beach, the peace of the area, the nice friendly atmosphere of Esterillos Oeste. Esterillos Oeste restaurants are ok and however, we were just 20 minutes far from Jaco, that offers everything you want as discos, casinos, restaurants but is too noisy and chaotic.

The price of the hotel is good.

“Paradise in Jaco”

Hotel Villa Creole

We needed a place to crash in Jaco while driving form Dominical to Montezuma and found Villa Creole based on a recommendation from a travel guide. The property is located a few blocks off the main drag on a quiet dead end street. Our room was very nice - modern with a full kitchen, comfortable bed, cable TV, and a large bathroom with plenty of hot water. The property had a nice pool but since we were only there one night we didn't use it.

The only disapointment was that our rate included breakfast but it only consisted of a few pieces of toast with some coffee grounds so we could make our own coffee in our room.
