Montezuma Rentals: Casitas Sollevante
I stayed in Casitas Sollevante for the Easter break and I have to say that this has probably been the best holiday I have had in years. We stayed in a couple of other hotels downtown but we usually found them very noisy and the level of humidity was very uncorfomtable at night time. We decided to stay a bit further away from the city so we found Casitas Sollevante which is located right on top of a hill overlooking Montezuma, the air is much fresher as you are surrounded by the rainforest and the 180 degrees view of the ocean is simply amazing!!!plus Montezuma is only a few hundreds of metres away if you wanna enjoy the nightlife. The apartments are fully furnished and you have everything you need there so sometimes we were inviting our friends over for dinner and then going to the jacuzzi to relax. what an amazing experience! I have already booked my xmas holidays here for the next year.

What a GREAT place! we stayed at Sollevante in March for one month and everything was absolutely perfect. The lodging, which overlooked the sea, was tidy and clean and perfectly fitted to the natural enviroment. We liked a lot being out of the village and noise, since for the first time we could experience a lifestyle we had found nowhere before. We got the impression we were guests of Nature, in a place where human beings live together with animals and plants in perfect harmony. Every morning we woke up at 6 to enjoy a moving dawn and waited for the Urraca bird, which came to rest on our table. Behind Sollevante there is a path to the waterfalls, so everyday we had beautiful strolls through the forest searching for monkeys, parrots and many different animals. When we were too tired to walk we asked Alvarado, who always give assistance to guests, to call us a taxi or to take us to the village.
We consider our experience as absolutely positive. 
Our advice is to go to Sollevante!

Sicuramente il posto piu' suggestivo del nostro viaggio in Costa Rica,abbastanza lontano dal mare da non subire il rumore continuo dell'onda che per chi non è abituato potrebbe risultare molto antipatico,specialmente la notte. Il resort infatti è situato sulle colline di Montezuma a meno di un chilometro dal centro del paese,circondato da una jungla primaria e di fronte all'Oceano che ti trasmette delle sensazioni fortissime.
Il giorno ci si dedica alle varie escursioni che offre la località mentre il pomeriggio ci si rilassa o alle cascate che sono vicinissime al resort o in piscina. La notte un tonificante idromassaggio nella jacuzzi a guardare il cielo stellato da.....urlo.

Ho avuto in questo "villaggio"un soggiorno meraviglioso. Casitas Sollevante è un posto è veramente incantevole, le casette sono comode, pulite e in sintonia con l'ambiente circostante. E' stata una vacanza all'insegna della natura del relax ma anche delle escursioni in posti indimenticabili.
Lo consiglio vivamente a tutti, in particolare a chi ama la natura; dalla mia casetta c'era un panorama veramente da film!!!

“fantastic”

I had a fantastic time in Montezuma in Casita Sol Levante. The location is amazing and the view is breathtaking people are lovely and professional. Surrounded by a fantastic garden with lot of Iguanas and birds, enjoy the swimmingpool at the sunset with a nice cold beer. Excellent for childrens. I miss Montezuma with all the friendly people. more

“FANTASTIC VIEW and WOUNDERFUL PEOPLE!!!!!”

We LOVED our Casita!!!! Our home away from home for two amazing fun filled and relaxing weeks :-) Varina looked after us like family,booked our mountain horseback ride,booked our ATV rental AND had it deliverd!!!!!! Aranged an amazing massage with Devaya who came to "US" we had the most amazing massage outside on our patio on a Sunday morning no less. Varina and her little dog Linda showed us a private path to the the waterfalls and a trail threw the jungle..."turn left at the banana tree" that took us to town(very cool). CHEECHO!!! The resident pig was so amazing he greated us on our fist night for a little belly rub.Marco, the owner is very kind and friendly, he even picked us up at the Tambor airstrip..... WE HAD AN AMAZING TIME!!!!! PURA VIDA :-)

“The pictures are true”

We traveled with friends and rented two casitas. Both were lovely and the grounds and view were gorgeous. Varina and Sammy were very friendly and helpful. The casitas are perched above the town of Montezuma and it is a steep 15-20 minute hike to get into town, fine for people with a car or strong hikers (the proprietors will happily give you a ride if they are around). The casitas and grounds were very peaceful, and we appreciated being away from the touristy town center. While there was no hot water, the temperature was fine for a shower; it was pleasantly cool after a hot hike up the hill. The pictures of the pool look straight from a travel magazine--and it really looks like it in person!

“I have never been so relaxed!”

My friends and I checked into Casitas Sollevante mid November intending to stay for five nights, we ended up staying for seven. Our group of five shared the two casitas at the top of the property with stunning views of the exceptionally maintained grounds overlooking the ocean. The interior of the casitas is furnished in a simple, clean style which only contributes to the relaxing feel of the place. Equipped with air conditioning, hot shower and kitchen as well as a comfortable, clean bed we couldn't ask for more! We definitely made the most out of the pool and the newly built deck to relax and enjoy the serenity and the sun!

The staff and in particular the owner Marco are extremely helpful and friendly in a genuine, relaxed sort of way. The place is a 15 minute walk from Montezuma's town centre and a 15 minute hike from the awesome waterfalls nearby. We were provided with a lift into town and picked up on every occasion that we asked for one (except for the one time Marco fell asleep watching TV! :-))

I would not hesitate to recommend this place and hope to come back again some day!

“The second best view in Cost Rica”

Montezuma is really different. You have lots of restaurants and bars, and few beaches with no rocks. Despite that, it's reallaxing, cozy and has a safe atmosphere.
This hotel was picked between a few choices, and we're really glad we did it.
The amazing view of the Pacific in the porch was great. Spent there an entire afternoon (because it rained really much) and it was just great... the lightning and thunder at sunset and night were awesome.
The rooms were nice, the kitchen has everything you can expect from it.
Really nice place.

“Great place to stay”

We stayed at Casitas for four nights in April. We were immediately stunned by the beautiful view of the Pacific. The first thing we did was jump in the pool! It was a very pleasant place to relax and enjoy the lovely view. We had booked the apartment, but something was wrong with it so they bumped us up to a 2 bedroom villa. The villa itself was basic, which it looks like most of the places in Montezuma are. It was clean upon arrival, although as always, be careful about ants! We forgot to close our cereal bag completely and we woke up the next morning with ants in it. We were very satisfied with our choice after seeing other places in the Montezuma area. The Casitas are just outside of Montezuma (which we were really happy about), there was always a nice breeze, and it was a lovely place to come back to after a long day playing in the sun and surf. I would recommend the Casitas for anyone looking for a lovely place to spend time in Montezuma and relax with a beautiful view!

“Wonderful, relaxing and invigorating”

I spent 6 days in one of the villas with some friends. We found some cheap plane tickets and decided to get away from New England for a little bit.

This place was the perfect contrast to being cramped up in a tiny Brooklyn apartment on a chilly, rainy April day. The managers were great and very helpful, giving us suggestions and rides down to Montezuma. They showed us a private path to the town's breathtaking waterfalls and helped us find a boat tour to Isla Tortuga at the last minute.

Montezuma is an interesting and small town--definitely worth checking out. But Casitas Sollevante is an incredible place in its own right. There's a pool and hot tub where you can lounge and gaze at the ocean in the distance. Or you can float around and see the many stars at night. The grounds surrounding the villas and apartments are filled with beautiful plants and well-kept grass and paths.

Our villa had air-conditioning in the bedrooms, so we were able to get some nice, cool sleep. There was a full kitchen for some cooking-in (there are only so many restaurants in Montezuma!) as well as a coffee maker, safebox and TV. The latter is kind of unnecessary, though, because staring at a screen seems ludicrous when there's such a wonderful view right outside.

“Hard to leave.......”

What an experience! Had two nights in Montezuma centre and then treated ourselves to two nights in Casitas. After staying next to the ocean for two nights and listening to the waves, it was a pleasant change to sleep in an air conditioned room, enjoy a hot shower and wake up with the view, not sound of the ocean :) It was a complete relaxation - the hammock and the view is the perfect combination and if you feel like doing some exercise, the pool is just nearby.

“Incredible Place!!!”

My husband and I just returned from a 2 week stay at Sollevante . We rented one of the villas. We have been to Costa Rica 5 times and this by far was the best trip ever. Staying at Sollevante was what made the trip so perfect. The web site doesn't do the place justice. It is gorgeous! The grounds are beautifully maintained, the casitas are in excellent condition, well maintained, cleaned daily with great care. Marco the owner, is very kind and accommodating. The staff are all exceptional people, helpful, kind and caring.

It is very quiet and thoughtfully landscaped creating privacy for every casita. The views of the ocean are astounding . It is very close to town, yet off the main road so it is quiet and not dusty(which can be quite an annoyance if you're too close to the road).
We love to cook and made all our meals there. It was so peaceful and relaxing. I can't say enough about how much I loved staying here. We are definitely coming back and bringing more family with us. This place is too awesome to keep to ourselves...and can easily accommodate large groups. It would be perfect for a family reunion.

“a joy for the spirit”

I have been in central and south america quite few times , costarica left me with the " crave " to come back as soon is possible 4 longer period of time .
las casitas , special is a special , dawn is great , birds grreet you in the morning .............and no mosquitos at all .
total relax , not far from montezuma city 15 minutes walk ,down hill coming back a taxy some time . very warm , nice people around , a kind gardener gave us a nice fresch papaya , or a coco .good start for a day before the beach

“The View of Montezuma”

We stayed in Casitas Sollevante for 3 nights on our way back from Vulcano Arenal. After an active vacation, this was the perfect spot for relaxing. Ours was Casa Blanca, which has two bedrooms and a kitchen. The most wonderful part of the house was the terrace with a wooden deck, very comfortable chairs and a hammock. The house also had the perfect view of the swimming pool, the garden and grounds and the ocean, of course. Watching the sun rise, right in front of us, over the ocean from the terrace was a wonderful experience. Also the swimming pool is fantastic - the water warms up during the day and stays warm late in the night and there is nothing better then coming back from a hot day at the beach and relaxing by or in the pool with a cold beer watching the stars. We loved it all!

“Breath taking”

What an amazing place and experience. This place had wonderful and friendly staff. They were very nice and helpful when we needed anything or had questions. The view was so beautiful and the sunsets are gorgeous, photos don't do it justice. At night you can hear the ocean waves rolling in and see every star in the sky. I would definietly recommend having a car though.

“On its way to being great...”

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in early January.
After a long trip from the central valley we were completey worn out when we arrvied at Sollevante. We we warmly welcomed and shown to our apartment.

We stayed in the upstairs unit which is a studio apartment with a basic kitchen, sleeping area and nice bathroom. The unit is sparcely but tastefully decorated and is air-conditioned. The real winning point of the unit is the great balcony with fantastic ocean views (which can also be enjoyed from the bed through the sliding glass doors). We were also delighted by the many birds we spotted and heard--it seems that it is not only humans who have discovered the peacefull atmosphere at Sollevante!

Another great feature of Sollevante is the swimming pool area, it is just amazing and so well maintained.

The only recommendations I could make for improvement are minor--the bed in our unit was extremely hard (which some may like but we didn't) and the kitchen could use a few more details, such as a toaster or/and microwave. Also our A/C didn't seem to work consistently but I'm sure this is something that can be easily taken care of (and probably already has!).

Overall we would higly recommend staying here, the other units/houses looked to be of comaprible quality and the whole property is well maintained. The location is a far walk from town but the seclusion is worth the $5 taxi ride! The staff are friendly and attentive and we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Marco who was nice to give us some lifts in his car too.

“Montezuma Hidden Gem”

I came to stay to Cassitas Sollevante for a week at the beginning of December and found the experience very pleasant. It's located up in the hills out of town and has an amazing view over the ocean. The place has a lot of space and a pool and a very peaceful atmosphere. The house is nicely set out, simple, but has everything necessary including a fully functioning kitchen. Bright colours, hot showers and clean, this is definitely the place to come and chill.
