Who we are

My name is Simone, I am Italianand have lived in Costa Rica for the past 10 years...'my tropical paradise' ishow I describe this place. Pacifica Surf School and Pacifica Surf Studios wasborn from a lifelong pursuit of sports and nature. When I was living in Italy,I had always been dedicated to sports, for 12 years I was a semi-professionalmotocross rider and I was aiming for big goals in racing until I had to facethe reality of an almost complete lack of sponsors. It was at this time I realizedthat I had to choose a new direction: to study law. Difficult, but doable if Icould only put half of the motivation and determination that I did formotocross! It took many hard years, but I succeeded.

During these years that I startedsurfing, and the more I surfed the less I felt convinced of what I reallywanted from my life...it was at that time in which I visited Costa Rica for thefirst time.

Costa Rica was the solution, theplace where I could live an outdoor life and where surfing was not only apassion, but a job too. I continued my studies and received my law degree inorder to feel more prepared to do what a really wanted to do-move to Costa Ricaand teach surfing.

I opened my first school in PlayaTamarindo and I loved it except that the town was becoming rapidly urbanized. Iexplored more of the incredible Costa Rican territory until I ended up in avery spectacular place- Playa Santa Teresa.

I didn't hesitate much, in lessthan one year I moved to Santa Teresa and opened another school: the PacificaSurf School. It's been a great experience, and we have taught thousands ofsurfing lessons. I have fulfilled my dream with Pacifica Surf Studios; I canprovide the possibility for people to gain access to not only the sport ofsurfing, but also the lifestyle. I have created an atmosphere for those whowant to enjoy a vacation that blends sports and nature. Pura Vida!

Pacífica Surf School

Discover the joy of surfing withour professional, multilingual instructors. We offer private as well as groupclasses for all skills levels

All prices include use of ourequipment.

Beginner level:

    * 2 hours in gentle waves

    * Warm up/Stretching techniques

    * Surfing safety + etiquette

    * Standing up

    * Board positioning

    * Small waves riding

Intermediate level class

    * 2 hours in gentle waves

    * Ocean knowledge

    * Surfing safety and etiquette

    * Duck dives/angle drop-ins

    * Front side turns

    * Back side turns

Advanced level class  

    * 2 hours in the line up

    * We offer this class to experienced surfers whodesire to increase their skill level by learning some of the wave difficulttechniques.

    * Instructors of this class are extremelyskilled member of Costa Rican National competition circuit.
