How to get to Esencia Hotel and Villas:

If you are travelling from San Jose to our Esencia Hotel and Villas, you could take a domestic flight, bus or you could drive to the hotel.

Domestic Flights: Departing from San Jose, this flight will take around 30 minutes to get to Tambor. From Tambor it will be just another 30 minutes ride to get to the hotel. We could offer you transportation to/from the hotel. For more information about local flights please email us:

Driving to the hotel: You can drive from San Jose to Esencia Hotel and Villas, this will take you around 5-6 hours trip and it includes a stop in Puntarenas where you must take a ferry in order to cross the beautiful Gulf of Nicoya.

Bus: Daily direct bus service between San Jose and Montezuma/Mal Pais area. Departures in San Jose from "La Coca Cola" bus station. This bus trip will
take 5 hours.
