Best Western Jaco Beach Resort

We went to Costa Rica to explore and relax. My boyfriend, his brother and I visited Costa Rica. The hotel was clean, staff was really friendly and accomidating. We really enjoyed interacting with Moses. The staff spoke english and were always eager to assist us with whatever we needed. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is always cleaning the grounds. “It Was Wonderful, Perfect Vacation in Costa Rica”

I opted for a homemade omlet and a fresh yogurt and fruit drink everyday. The selection of food was good. Breafast comes with your stay. The staff at the restaurant was good as well. Being from New York I can be kind of fussy. We thought the price of the best western was good , we booked it, I was worried it would be dirty. It was not at all. The rooms are dated and need to be updated however they were clean and perfect to sleep in, we were to busy exploring. I really enjoyed being close to the ocean. Jaco beach is really a surfers beach. The current is very very strong. We kind of played in the water. We did not swim in it. The life guard was very attentive in telling us where the safest area to swim was located. It was really interesting watching people of all ages surfing. The beach is a rock beach. The town of Jaco was interesting. We tried many of the establishments along the main street. The food was so good.

My favorite place to eat was Hicaco seafood restuarant. It was pricey yet it was the best seafood I have ever tasted. It is also right on the beach. There are places all over Jaco. We shopped and bought many beatiful pieces of wood , jewerly boxes, boxes..etc. The wood is amazing. I have never seen this kind of wood being sold in NYC. As far as safety in Jaco, be smart and just relax. No one bothered us, we walked all over at all times.

If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton don't stay here.......it is a perfect spot in the center of everything we needed. It is also only 2 hours from San Jose airport. We plan on going backto the Best Western Jaco Beach next year.

“Thank You Best Western”

Best Western Jaco Beach Resort

When I first went to Costa Rica in 2000 I was supposed to stay here but my friend and I got transfered to another hotel. I fell in love with the country and next year decided to got back and see what Best Western Jaco was like. Only thing,Ii couldn't find anyone to go with. I am an adventurous but shy person and have never been anywhere alone. But I missed Costa Rica so much i had to go myself. Let me tell you I almost chikened out at the air port. I'm so glad i didn't because going there was the best thing I have ever done in my life. The Best Western Is The Best!!!!!!!!!! The staff were so friendly I even stayed in touch with a few. I met so many friendly people from all over and went on a few tours that were set up right in the hotel lobby the Guides were knowledgable and friendly(as is everyone in costa rica). I loved it so much I wen't again the next year alone again and did the rest ouf the tours and had a blast. I have been at this spacific hotel 3 times and recomend it to all who want to go to costa rica. Thank you best western for some of the best memories of my life! including my Honymoon

“Great Hotel”

Best Western Jaco Beach Resort

My Husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during our 3 week honeymoon in Costa Rica. We had spent 1 1/2 weeks hiking and treaking all over and when we arrived at Jaco beach took advantage of the All-Inclusive the Best Western offered. We loved it and had a great time.

True, the rooms are nothing special and do need an update, however; we were only in our room at night! We spent the entire day on the beach and by the pool, eating and drinking. The advantage to the All inclusive. They had a very nice big pool and the beach was beautiful. It was during the low season when we were there, so it was not crowded. Although we were there during the rainy season (Beginning of it) we didn't see any rain at Jaco, actually during the entire 3 weeks we only saw 3 days with rain, and even at that the rain didn't last longer than 45 min. We saw some beautiful sunsets from Jaco Beach.

The food was great, lots of variety. We loved the special made smoothies at breakfast. If you are going to stay here, go for the All-Inclusive, it is not that much more money and is worth it! Make sure you try the Guaro!! Yum!!

The staff was very friendly and helped us with any request we had.

We would deffinatley stay here again!

“Perfect Place right on the beach”

Best Western Jaco Beach Resort

We stayed at the Best Western in Jaco for Thanksgiving and let me say we had NO PROBLEMS.Our room did not stink or have any mildew in fact we really LOVED the place. The staff was very friendly and they had plenty of security around the place. The a/c worked fine also we had plenty hot water. It located right on the beach and also has a bar in between the pool and beach..Oh we also went walking around Jaco at NIGHT and had no problem so do not beleive those negative reviews.Yes it is a party place but hello you are on vacation have fun lighten up.Two things about the Costaian people ,they are the nicest people and the worst drivers but hey it's their country,so if you did not like Costa Rica stay away then cause I know my wife and I will return to Jaco

“Great Choice”

Best Western Jaco Beach Resort

I was pleasantly surprised with the Best Western. I would say that my expectations were handily exceeded. The grounds are very well maintained and quite beautiful. The buffet breakfast was superb, while the buffet dinner was just o.k.. The rooms (specifically the bedding) needed to be updated 3 years ago. However, everything was clean and the hotel staff were professional and courteous. For the money The Best Western Jaco is a solid choice.

“The Best time at The Best Western”

Best Western Jaco Beach Resort

I spent 3 nights at the BW over the week between Christmas and New Years. There were 6 people with me....3 in their mid 20"s my daughter (16), my husband and i in our 50"s and a friend also in her 50"s. The place was filled with Costa Ricans and their families on vacation, there were very few people from the states(which i like and consider a plus), and all the service staff did their best to please. I felt safe and secure and being on the all-inclusive plan enjoyed the food and variety. If you cannot be happy here you cannot be happy anywhere in Jaco (IMO) If you want more info just e-mail me and I will help you anyway I can. Once again my vacation (and everyone else who was with me agrees) was happy, safe, and very enjoyable.

“Everything you need at Best Western.”

Best Western Jaco Beach Resort

I went to this hotel as part of a family getaway. We got one room for my parents, and another for my sister, brother and I. With two double beds, we were very comfortable. The room was always kept very clean, we had AC and the housekeeper always took the time to make a little "sculpture" out of our towels. I think that's one of the best hotels in the neighborhood for the price.

The Best Western is situated in a very convenient location. You can walk to numerous amazing restaurants (a lot of them are really cheap too!), stores, banks, etc. There is also a computer with free Internet near the lobby. If it's busy, you can still go to nearby Internet cafés that won't break the bank.

You can walk to the beach, and enjoy the Pacific Ocean, or take a dip in the pool. The pool is very clean, and there are lounging chairs around it to enjoy the sun.

As for the breakfast that was included in the room, it was a cold buffet, with plenty of delicious tasting fruits. The variety was interesting and we had new kind of juices every morning. And the coffee was honestly one of the best I've tasted in my life (go to the grocery on the main street and bring back Costarican coffee home!).

“Viva Costa Rica”

Best Western Jaco Beach Resort

Back from a wonderful vacation in Costa Rica ! What a wonderful country ! People are so easy and simple always smiling !

We were there for 2 weeks in a all-included where we made new friends among the Ticos !!!

Thanks to all the wonderful staff: Marcella, Javier, Francisco, Dennis and especially our new friend Juan Diego at the bar.

and all the staff at the restaurant !

The hotel is a 3 stars not more. It's clean everywhere, but the rooms and the bathrooms especially need a little face-lift !

But the rest of it, is so perfect that we hope that this critic will just help the owners of the hotel to improve a little.

Again, this is a wonderful destination if you're not afraid of CALOR ! 'cause it is really hot in Jaco and very humid !

Rent a car or I must say a 4x4, and travel the country ! The roads are bumpy and narrow !

But the National Parks, the birds, the butterflies, the frogs and all the flowers and waterfalls are so wonderful that you will just fall in love with this country !

Muchas Gracias a todos en el Best Western ! y Pura Vida Loca de la parte de Carlos y Lyne de Canada

“had a great time”

Best Western Jaco Beach Resort

This hotel was a great deal. I went in May, which is supposed to be the rainy season, but we weren't affected by rain too much. The staff was very friendly and knew enough english combined with us knowing a little spanish to where we could communitcate without any problems. The all inclusive is great, the only snag is you can only get one kind of beer as I remember, Imperial, which tasted like malt liqour. All cocktails/margaritas/daquiris were inlcuded though, so it was not a big deal. The room was fine, didnt spend too much time in it. I would reccommend trying to get one with a veiw of the pool or beach if you can. we looked out into bushes or something. There are Iguanas everywhere which was cool. Had no complaints with the food, it was not great but we were never hungry or sick, and we were drinking the tap water with no problems. The beach is nice, much nicer than the marriot los suenos beach which we saw when we chartered a fishing boat. On that note, we asked one of the waiters about who to go fishing with, and he reccomended a guy named "chino" who was inexpensive and very nice/ knew what he was doing. I caught a 55lb mahi mahi which the hotel cooked for us for no extra charge. atv-ing was also fun but probably pretty dangerous. anyways, had a good time, maybe not nice enough for a honeymoon, but definitely a nice vacation with friends or family. the nightlife in jaco is pretty crazy as well. caution: the pretty girls out at night are pros, just give a "no tengo dinero" and they wont bother you too much after that.

“Very Very Nice Better than Ecpected!!!”

Best Western Jaco Beach Resort

First of all you get what you paid for it's not a 5 star hotel!!! So stop complaning like it was!!

The hotel is about an hour and a half to two hours away from San Jose. Nice drive but do expect alot of hills and winding roads.

The hotel grounds were very well maintained, rooms were clean and spacious and comfortable, bathrooms were nice and spacious too!! Dinning room was on the second floor open air concept very nice!! Food was keept very divers for all meas,l you will see your basics day in and day out but expect that in any hotel. you just can't go to a central american hotel and not see rice and beans for breakfast lunch and dinner it's unheard of (i'm spanish) I live by that code!! Joking aside the hotel staff was amezing very friendly and helpfull except for a few bad apples at the front desk!!

The bar staff was AMAZING...Props to those guys and girls!! Ask them to make you a MyTie!!!

Yummy thinking of it!! Anyways during the day realisticly your not in your room...we were out an about on a tour or SHOPPING!! Lots and lots of great stuff to buy, i didn't know where to start. you'll get some really good shots of the sunt set... i never made it to the sunrise had to settel for sunsets..beautiful never the less!!

One thing the hotel mentions internet access for free but be ware that their is only one computer and it's "slow" ya so their is and internet cafe down the main road where you can call back home and check your emails for cheep!

Oh and the hotel puts on a really good saturday night show in the bar so don't miss it some our group missed it and it was the best night we had (it was agroup of 30) the ones that missed it hear about it the next day and felt left out!!! And if you are thinking of skinny dipping well go out their in a group, take only beach towles on ( some one from our skinny dipping club got their cloths stolen by a local at night on the beach).

Don't expect the 5 star pool ...........nooooooo it's anice pool clean and it's not salty, it's refresing after all day at sea!!

I don't recomend Tortuga Island on the Calypso..Island was dissapointing nothing there to do...and the little few things you have to pay for it...no worth the trip!!

I do recomend the Canopy tour, horse back and water falls, manuel antonio national park, Baldi Arenal Tour was the best!!!

Anyways hope this helps make you decision!!

Fun Travels

Okay so i can't spell...sorry!!
